R-W-C Policy
Retraction Policy
The Journal of Health Matters (JoHM) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scientific record. Articles may be retracted in cases of proven plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, major errors that invalidate findings, or violations of research ethics. Retractions may be initiated by authors, editors, or the publisher, and will be issued promptly once sufficient evidence is available.
All retraction notices are permanently accessible, linked to the original article, and clearly state the reasons for retraction without defamatory language. In cases where evidence is inconclusive, an Expression of Concern may be published. When multiple articles are affected by the same issue, batch retractions may be applied in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Withdrawal Policy
Authors are strongly discouraged from withdrawing submitted manuscripts once the review process has begun, as such withdrawals waste valuable resources, including the time and effort of editors, reviewers, and the publisher. The Journal of Health Matters (JoHM) expects authors to carefully consider their submission before sending it to the journal.
If an author still requests to withdraw a manuscript during the peer-review process, the request must first be confirmed by the Editor-in-Chief, and the author is required to pay IDR 250,000 as compensation for the reviewers’ time and efforts. All withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to the editorial office at johmfkikubb@gmail.com.
Correction Policy
The Journal of Health Matters (JoHM) may issue a correction when a published article contains errors that do not invalidate the overall findings but may mislead readers or require clarification. Corrections may also be issued if there are inaccuracies in the list of authors, such as an omitted contributor or the inclusion of someone who does not meet authorship criteria.
Corrections to peer-reviewed content fall into three categories:
-
Publisher Correction (Erratum): Issued when an error caused by journal staff (e.g., a production or formatting mistake) negatively affects the publication record, scientific integrity, or the reputation of the authors and the journal.
-
Author Correction (Corrigendum): Issued when an error made by the authors impacts the accuracy of the published work, the reliability of the scientific record, or the reputation of the journal.
-
Addendum: An addition provided by the authors to clarify, expand, or update information in the original article.
The decision to issue a correction rests with the Editor-in-Chief, who may consult reviewers or members of the editorial board if necessary. Handling editors will contact the corresponding author for clarification before a final decision is made.
