Gout arthritis is a chronic inflammatory joint disease caused by the accumulation of monosodium urate crystals due to elevated uric acid levels, which often results in recurrent joint pain and reduced quality of life. Health education is an important strategy to improve patient understanding of disease management and pain control. This systematic literature review aims to analyse the effectiveness of pain control management education in improving knowledge and disease management among patients with gout arthritis and their families. The review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. A structured literature search was conducted in several scientific databases to identify relevant studies on educational interventions in gout arthritis management. Ten studies that met the inclusion criteria were selected and analysed. The findings indicate that educational interventions significantly improve knowledge about gout arthritis, including disease causes, pain management strategies, and lifestyle modifications. Educational programs also improve family caregiving independence in providing care and strengthen family support for patients during gout arthritis management. Pain control management education is an effective approach to improve knowledge and support better disease management in patients with gout arthritis, particularly when educational programs involve both patients and their families.
